Locked out of your own computer
Being locked out of your own machine is more common than people expect — a changed Microsoft account password, a PIN that stopped working after an update, or a computer inherited from someone who isn't around to ask.
How people end up here
- A Microsoft account password changed somewhere else, and the computer still wants the old one.
- A PIN that stopped being accepted after a Windows update.
- A machine from a family member, with no one left to ask.
- A work laptop returned with an account still attached to it.
- A local account set up once, years ago, and never typed since.
Your files are a separate question
Not being able to log in doesn't mean the files are gone. In most cases the data is still sitting on the drive, intact, and recoverable independently of the login — which matters if what you actually need is the photos rather than the machine.
Bring proof it's yours
We need to see the computer is yours before we touch a lock — a receipt, the original packaging, a matching ID, or the account it's registered to. It's the same standard a locksmith works to, and it's not negotiable. Bring the charger too.
Straight answer
We will not unlock a machine you can't show ownership of, whatever the story is. That's a firm line, not a formality. Encrypted drives are also a genuine limit — if BitLocker is on and nobody has the recovery key, the data is not reachable by us or by anyone, and we'd rather tell you that at the counter than after you've paid for a diagnosis.

Common questions
How much will it cost?
No appointment needed — stop in for a quick consultation, and we’ll take a look and quote it up front, in plain English. No surprises. Prefer to call first? Reach us at 941-625-TECH (8324).
What should I bring when I drop off my computer?
Just the device and its power adapter or charger. If the problem involves logging in or specific files, your password helps us get straight to work. Leave the boxes and manuals at home unless they’re part of the issue.
Is my data safe with you?
Your data stays private — we only access what’s needed to complete your repair. Have specific questions about your files? Just ask when you drop off and we’ll walk you through how we handle everything.
