Toshiba laptop repair
Toshiba stopped selling laptops under its own name years ago; the company sold that business off, and new machines from that lineage now carry the Dynabook name instead. Every Toshiba still in service today is old by definition, and that changes the conversation before we even open it.
What's still out there
- Satellite — the consumer line, and the one we see most.
- Tecra and Portégé — the business laptops, generally built a bit sturdier.
- Qosmio and older multimedia lines — long discontinued, and the hardest to find parts for.
Parts availability is the real constraint
The labor to swap a screen, a keyboard, or a battery is the same regardless of brand. What's different on Toshiba is finding the part in the first place — nothing new has shipped under that name in years, so replacement components increasingly come from pulled or used stock rather than off a shelf. We check availability before we quote, not after, because on some models the part simply isn't there to be had.
Where this leaves the repair-or-replace question
We lean toward replacement on Toshiba more often than on any other brand, and we say that plainly rather than take a job that doesn't make sense. That's not true of every Toshiba in every case — a machine that only needs RAM or a straightforward part swap can still be worth reviving — but it's worth walking in expecting that conversation rather than being surprised by it.
Straight answer
We'll service a Toshiba in-shop like anything else, but we were never a Toshiba authorized provider, and at this point there isn't really a current one to be — the brand exited the consumer computer business and doesn't sell anything new to be authorized on. If your machine needs a mainboard, a screen that's hard to source, or anything beyond a bolt-on part, we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it against what the machine is, rather than run the bill up finding out.
Ways we can handle this
This one usually needs hands on the hardware, so the machine does need to reach the bench. Getting it here isn't necessarily your problem to solve, though.
- Walk in. No appointment needed at 2320 S Tamiami Trl, Unit 7, during shop hours.
- Pickup and drop-off — $49. We collect the machine and bring it back, within roughly 10–15 miles. That covers the trip; any repair, setup or training is quoted separately.
- We come to you. On-site visits for home offices, small-business setups, and anything that shouldn’t be unplugged.
- Remote. A live screen-share while you watch everything we do — the computer never leaves your desk.

What happens if my computer can’t be fixed?
We tell you straight. After we diagnose it, you get an honest recommendation — sometimes that’s a repair, and sometimes the better answer is putting the money toward a replacement (we sell tech-tested computers too). Either way, you approve everything before any work starts.
